Paul McCartney - The Beatles - Free Drum Samples

Ringo was not the only Beatle who recorded drums on their albums, Paul also played skins on 4 songs while Ringo was in disagreement with the band, or while being a movie star.  This is not a Ringo hating post, but just an interesting sample collection. Included is a small sample set of a kick, snare, two toms, and a break beat of Paul McCartney playing drums on some Beatles tunes, in .zip format.  All samples are from "Back in the USSR" and "Wild Honey Pie."

Free Distorted Short Delay Snare Drum Samples

This batch of snare samples is a more on the distorted/strange/whacko side of the spectrum.  Lots of short (<50ms) delay, long sustain, and bunches of distortions stacked upon distortions. 10 single hit samples, 24bit 48k samples, in a zip file.  These were specifically made for those looking for something a little different.

Free Drum Samples - Philly Jo Jones from "Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet

The only reason I listen to jazz, bebop or otherwise, is because of this album and because of Philly Joe Jones.  My old drum teacher introduced this to me an I have judge all other jazz with this is as my comparison.  The trading four sections throughout this record amaze.  Long live Philly Joe Jones.  Below is a zip file 20 different with 16 bit 44.1k stereo drum hits and loops from this album.  Enjoy!

Free "Normal" Snare Drum Samples Volume 1

Here are 10 free snare drum samples, each a layered combination from my drum library.  These are without any strange distortion or effects. Single hit as always, zip file, 24/48k!

C and C Drum Kit Samples- Made in KC

This is a C and C drum kit, made in Kansas City, mic'ed with a Neumann U87 overhead, and some random close mics.  Great mics plus a great kit equals killer samples.  C and C kits are some of the best sounding drums I have ever heard.

Gretsch Kit No. 2 with Paiste, Zildjian, and Byzance Cymbals

This set is a modern Gretsch Kit.  There are some nice cymbals in this pack, including a 17 Custom Hybrid Crash from Zildjian, a Byzance 18" Extra Dry Thin Crash with Three Sizzles, and  Paiste Innovations 20" Heavy Ride.

1965 15" Ludwig Tenor-to-Snare Modification Samples

This is a 1965 Ludwig Marching Tenor Drum that I modded into a snare.  You can see the details here.  The zip file below has snare on and off and various states of muffle involved.

George Clinton Drum Samples

I went through a few old George Clinton and Parliament, and P-Funk, and the combination of them and got some good drum samples out of them. They are labeled by song and drum type. I had a hard time finding kick samples that didn't have a HH, but it is funk.

Electronica Snare, Kick, and HH type of Samples

The following are some free drums samples to dowload that are "electoronica" in nature. Most of them have some odd reverbs/other effects on them.
